Letter of Recommendation for Sankoum Sissoko of Timbuktu Travels Service


It gives me great pleasure to recommend Sankoum Sissoko as a guide and companion for visitors to Mali.  I have known Sankoum for some ten years and can vouch for his expertise and good character.  He knows Mali well and has acted successfully both as a guide for individuals and groups.  His knowledge of local history and local customs is prodigious and Sankoum is very good in all his explanations.  He positively welcomes questions on all aspects of life and culture in Mali and he has infectious enthusiasm.  I have found him sensitive to client needs and totally responsible in every way.  He is an individual of some cultural depth and he has very good English and is totally at ease speaking to a group.  I have worked with local guides in more than 20 countries and have place Sankoum amongst the best that I have had the pleasure of working with.
